Fann Mountains: transfer to Artuch & Alauddin
Artuch alpine camp is the classic start of the Kulikalon and Alauddin treks in the Fann Mountains. From Dushanbe it is about 5 hours via the Anzob tunnel and the Zeravshan valley; from Panjakent about 2–2.5 hours. We drop you at the camp (or as far as the track allows) and pick you up at the end of your trek — Artuch, Alauddin or Sarytag — on the date you choose.

The road
Paved to the Zeravshan valley, then a decent dirt road to Artuch village. The last ~6 km to the alpine camp are dirt, and the final ~4 km steep and rocky: a sedan or minivan stops below and the camp’s 4x4 or your legs do the rest; our 4x4 goes up when the track is dry. Alauddin is reached from Sarvoda by a 4x4 track to the alpinist camp, about 4 hours from Dushanbe, then a 2 km walk to the lake.
Worth stopping
- Iskanderkul (on the way to Alauddin, +1.5 h).
- Ayni minaret.
- Fresh bread and supplies in Ayni or Panjakent — little to buy beyond.
Good to know
- Season: June to September for the high passes (Alauddin pass, Laudan); camps usually open from June.
- Mobile signal is only at Artuch, Sarytag and on the passes.
- Book the pickup when you book the drop-off; tell us the trek and the end point, we confirm the time by WhatsApp from Artuch.
