A private Land Cruiser or Prado with a Pamiri driver from Dushanbe to Osh costs $2,390 for 6 days, $2,690 for 7 and $2,990 for 8 — per car for up to 4 people, with fuel, the driver’s lodging and meals and his drive back included. Shared by four, the 7-day trip is about $673 per person.

Per person or per car?
Group tours and booking sites quote a price per person; we quote the whole car. The car costs the same whether one or four of you ride in it, so the per-person cost falls quickly when you share — see the last column of the table. A 4x4 takes up to 4 passengers with luggage.
Season
The Pamir Highway is driven from May to October; June to September is the most reliable. Outside summer the passes above 4,000 m (Ak-Baital is 4,655 m) can get snow, and spring mud and landslides can close Kalaikhum–Khorog for a day or two. Our price per car is the same all season; in May and October we confirm the road before we confirm your trip.
How to choose the length
- 6 days: the direct M41 with one Wakhan day — good if you have little time.
- 7 days: the classic, with the Wakhan, Bulunkul and a night in Murghab.
- 8 days: an extra day for hikes, hot springs or slack for weather.
- Starting in Osh? The same prices apply from Osh to Dushanbe.
- Only part of the road? Dushanbe → Khorog, the Wakhan, Khorog → Murghab and Murghab → Osh are sold separately (table above).
Tips and extras
Tips are not included and are up to you. An English-speaking driver is +$20 a day and a licensed guide +$100 a day. Extra days on the road are charged at the Pamir day rate.

For one or two travellers a group tour can be cheaper per person. With four people sharing a private car, the 7-day car costs about $673 each, and you choose the stops and the pace.
Do I pay in advance?
Multi-day trips are confirmed with a 30% deposit; the rest is paid before or during the trip, as stated in your confirmation.
